Scholars from West Africa (Nigeria, Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, the island of Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé and Principe, and Togo), Zambia, and Zimbabwe, China, East Africa (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Burundi), Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Jamaica & the Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Southern Africa (South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, and Swaziland), Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (SJLP), United Arab Emirates, United States.
Rhodes Scholarships covers the following academic and financial costs:
° All University and College fees
° a living stipend (£15,900 per annum 2019-20)
° two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford
° visa expenses
° settling in allowance (£225 in 2019-20)
° health insurance
° the University application fee
N.B: These scholarship awards last for a period of 2 years. It can be reviewed, however, this is dependent on the applicant’s academic performance and or excellence.
To be eligible to apply for these scholarships by Rhodes in partnership with Oxford University, United Kingdom, applicants must:
° be between 18 and 28 years
° have citizenship and or be a national of selected countries
