It’s been found that Tandem will estimate your location using your IP address, even if you turn off location tracking. User activity on Tandem lets you check into venues or tag venues (for which it likely knows the street address and type of establishment) when you use the platform. You can change your location on Tandem to your current area.

How to Change Location in Tandem With VPN
The simplest way to change the Tandem location is by using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Express VPN, Tunnel Bear changes your internet traffic through an intermediary server located in a country of your choice. It can cover your real IP address and replace it with one from your chosen country, thus spoofing your current location.
1. If you haven’t already, Create Tandem account.
2. Install and set up the VPN you would like to use.
3. Use the VPN software to connect your computer to a VPN server located in the country where you want to access Tandem.
4. Open Tandem in a web browser and log into your account if you’re not already signed in.
How Can Tandem Track Your Location?
Tandem uses location information, such as your device’s GPS signal, and connection information, such as your Wi-Fi connection or IP address (Internet protocol address) to track your location. Tandem says it helps them understand where you are.
The IP address Tandem uses is the unique number assigned to your device, such as a phone or computer, that allows it to communicate over the Internet. These numbers are set according to standard guidelines, or protocols. Like someone will need a postal address to receive a letter from a friend, your device needs a digital address to receive information on the Internet.
When your Location service is off, Tandem may still estimate your location using check-ins, events, and information about your Internet connection. It uses this information to provide more relevant and personalized experiences, monitors your account, and provides its services according to your area.
This feature is available on the Tandem website, the app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. You can learn more about how to change region/location on the privacy policy page.
