How to Stop Your MTN Subscriptions

One of the simplest ways to stop all MTN services is using the USSD/opt-out code.

  1. open your phone and press *136*5#.
  2. Select Content Services.
  3. Then, Select Manage Premium Rated Services.
  4. Choose option 2 for the Charges.
  5. On the next page, select Block Premium Rated Services.
  6. From here, you need to block Premium Rated Services (PRS) charges. Dial *155# on your phone and move to the next page by selecting 99 (More).
  7. Now choose Block/Unblock future charges.
  8. Select Premium rated services.

You can also use the MTN app to cancel your subscription services. 

  1. Open the app and tap the three lines on top of the app
  2. Select My Subscriptions. You will see a list of your active subscriptions. 
  3. Select the services you want to cancel.
  4. Tap on cancel or turn off auto-renewal.

How do you know what is reducing your airtime? You can find out what is taking your airtime by checking your SMS history to see if you have messages activating you to a subscription service, or reminding you about the auto-renewal.
